United States of America - New York, New York CityJob SummaryAECOM's New York City Environmental Group is seeking entry-level Field Arborists for full-time employment in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, NY.In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of gas main utility lines below streets and sidewalks in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.As per the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR) regulations, ISA Certified Arborist is needed to:* Identify all NYCDPR jurisdictional trees within the construction and impact footprint* Obtain a NYCDPR Tree Permit;* Document all phases of construction in and around NYCDPR jurisdictional trees* Provide oversight for all excavation of sidewalks, installation of gas lines, and/or installation of new sidewalk that may impact NYCDPR-owned treesMinimum Requirements* Bachelor's degree in natural resources sciences (e.g., biology, etc.), natural resource management, or environmental science* Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive and require periodic post-employment background checks* Must pass pre-employment drug screen.* Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, personal vehicle, and the ability to navigate to and through Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, NY* Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dusts, and noise. Position requires frequent standing/walking, operation of vehicles, work in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; occasionally power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working alone in isolated/remote areas, and performing keyboard/mouse operations. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including safety shoes/boots, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, and high visibility vest.* Excellent business writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work within deadlinesPreferred QualificationsA current Arborist Certification by the International Society of Arboriculture is highly preferred.What We OfferWhen you join AECOM, you become part of a company that ispioneering the future .
