Barton began mining and milling operations in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York in 1878. Barton is currently seeking a Millwright for the year-round North Creek, NY operation. Position Responsibilities: Performs advanced repairs, maintenance, fabrication and installation of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as electric motors, gear reduction units, pumps, conveyor systems, fans and blowers, bucket elevators, and a variety of production machines and equipment. Repairs must be completed in accordance with engineer's diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer's instructions. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine specifications and work procedures. Determines dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Plans and constructs foundations for machines; installs and aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, and other rigging equipment; assembles machines, and bolts, welds, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures as required to ensure stability. The ideal candidate should have:High school diploma or GED.Vocational or technical training in skilled trades field.New York State Plant Maintenance Mechanic Certification, preferred Strong mechanical aptitude.
