OVERVIEWThis person is responsible for providing technical management over the IT Infrastructure of a large not-for-profit human services agency located in New York City. This person will provide thought leadership and expertise to guide and manage the company's Network, Server, Exchange, SAN, VMWare and Enterprise Operating Systems. This full time consulting position will last approximately 6 months and can become permanent! This client is conveniently located in mid-town Manhattan.RESPONSIBILITIES* Lifecycle management of hardware, software, Cisco network infrastructure, and network services* Overall management of Network and Network operating systems (Servers, SAN's, VMWare, Windows, file and print services, Domain Controllers, Exchange, Network Devices, VLAN's, Switches and Routers, Active Directory, IP Addressing, WAN and LAN services, Wireless Network, Network Monitoring and reporting, Data Center capacity management and planning, Security management and reporting, Disaster recovery, Backups and recovery).* Ensures the availability and reliability of access to email and other communication systems, shared resources, departmental files, and the Internet.* Conducts ongoing analysis of our computer systems to define the organization's computer and network needs. Makes appropriate recommendations, taking into account a cost benefit analysis.* Prepares and implements short term and long term computer, security, and compliance system goals and plans to achieve them.* Develops and implements procedures and controls to support IT Service Management* Ensures that all systems are adequately documented* Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.* Establishes priorities for system modifications and requests.* Ensures prompt and courteous feedback to requestors of computer services.* Receives, stores, and issues computer equipment supplies and other materials to staff. Maintains software and hardware inventories.* Maintains accurate documentation of the network and associated systems.* Configure system management tools* Automate systems management processes through scripting (PowerShell, Python);* Perform other duties as needed or assigned.QUALIFICATIONS* Required:* 3-5 years minimum experience management and administration of "Enterprise IT"* VMWare experience/certifications* Windows Server MCITP or MCSE Certifications* Cisco Switching Certifications (CCNA Required, CCNP Preferred)* Ability to develop effective work relationship across all organizational levels* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Excellent organizational skills* Excellent customer service skills* Excellent prioritization/followup* Preferred:* Microsoft Exchange administration experience/certifications* Symantec Backup Exec 2010/2012 experience/certifications* Cisco Wireless experience/certifications* Cisco VOIP experience/certifications
