Datadog's Business Operations team collaborates with teams across the organization and hundreds of outside vendors, providing operational support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible. The opportunity:

Datadog is in hyper-growth mode. We're currently looking for a Construction Project Manager to join us in our New York based HQ and help design and build our office infrastructure globally. You’ll work closely with our VP of Business Operations to ensure all Datadog offices globally help keep our employees safe, productive, and happy. This can mean planning the design of our new Tokyo office, working through the logistics of constructing a challenging frameless 400 lbs glass door with our architect and builder in Boston, or figuring out how to do the least disruptive demolition and build-out of a new floor in a Datadog occupied office in Paris. Every day will be different.

You will:

  • Manage all our office construction and expansion projects to consistent standards and high quality
  • Work with landlords, architects, AV / IT / Security / Furniture vendors, Expeditors and Builders on design, planning, build-out through to move-in
  • Oversee construction budgets, including analysis of actual vs budgeted costs
  • Ensure cost, forecast and progress reports are up to date and meet deadlines
  • Keep all construction related documentation complete and organised 
  • Manage and negotiate change order scope and costs
  • Maintain and expand office-build out summaries
  • Cooperate with Office Operations and IT teams to constantly improve our spaces
  • Travel to construction sites on four continents
  • Hire and manage construction contractors as needed
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in large scale commercial construction management in multiple locations, demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth
  • Ability to professionally communicate with subcontractors, construction managers, landlords, architects, inspectors, and Datadog leadership, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in value engineering and proposing resourceful solutions to tough construction challenges
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Love problem solving, obsessed with improving workflow and processes
  • Able to remain calm under pressure 
  • Possess excellent time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management or Engineering field
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certified
