Job Responsibilities Assists manager to guide the Compliance staff as needed to ensure an efficient operation. Provides direct guidance and supervision for the daily operation of the compliance employees. This may include duties in Compliance, Post Entry, Recon, NAFTA/FDA and the Bond Dept. Schedules office employees’ duties, reviews progress, answers questions, and resolves technical problems. Monitors work flow and makes adjustments in personnel and assignments to meet deadlines. Works cross functionally to develop and implement compliance procedures and controls. Assesses, implements and monitors training needs of team members to provide optimal performance. Assists manager to develop and create an environment to help motivate direct reports to optimize their performance and professional growth by hiring qualified employees, providing ongoing training and conducting effective performance management, which may include terminations. Generally assists manager with projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of education and experience. Five years of experience in the import/export transportation industry. Three years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities U.S. Customs Brokerage license. Willingness to sign a non-compete/non-disclosure agreement.
