Welch Allyn, Inc. in Skaneateles Falls, NY seeks a Software Engineer II. Responsible for design, development, and test of software for our line of Safe Patient Lifts. Work on a cross-functional new product development team to design and develop software for current and future patient lifts including controller card embedded C programming, algorithm development for lift warnings and maintenance, integrate HW platforms to developed SW, perform feasibility studies for different SW architectures, and utilize wireless and Bluetooth to integrate Hill Rom products. Support senior developers, following the Software Development Life Cycle and coding best practices. Design and document software features from product requirements. Design verification tests and utilities. Generate estimates for tasks and project schedules. Implement features using coding best practices. Collaborate with and contribute to our software development team. Implement the software based on strategic direction from the lead. Take the lead on communication with V&V engineers during verification of software. Collaborate closely with other teams including: systems, test, electrical, mechanical, and design and regulatory assurance. Ensure software interfaces to other parts in the system are documented. Work with other functional teams to understand their interfaces and implement simulation to emulate these interfaces during component level software test.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Must also have experience with (i) software architecture development, requirements, and verification; (ii) developing and verifying both software and firmware; (iii) software testing and test automation; (iv) C/C in embedded RTOS systems; (v) built in self-test for products (BIST); (vi) OS Systems security; (vii) GIT, Jira, and SVN; (viii) network securities algorithms and implementations; and (ix) selecting hardware by interpreting electrical component data sheets.
