As an Senior Engineer in the Wireless Test Group in R&D, you will support several projects through software testing of medical devices and host applications. You will partner with development engineers, quality engineers and other Test Team members to establish and execute functional, performance and robustness testing of medical devices and medical software applications. You will develop protocols from requirements/design documentation, and execute the protocols against established baselines. You will use your computer and networking skills to set up test environments. In addition, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of departmental, site and corporate objectives for Reliability, Quality, Productivity, and Cost performance.
Work closely with cross-functional group to identify product requirements that are both pertinent and testable.
Specifically the role will require:
Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch (Identify and define product requirements)
Write detailed test plans and protocols based on the requirements
Ability to identify synergies of previously tested items and modify existing test plans to suite current needs
Execute tests using in-house software (on Linux & Windows) and hardware
Monitor test progress
Debug and document test issues
Generate test reports
Analyze reports for failures, performance degradation, and other anomalies
File detailed bug reports
Work with design teams to troubleshoot, root cause, and resolve product issues
Design, plan, establish and optimize wireless networks
Experience with Wireshark to capture and analyze wireless and wired packets
Experience with the use of a spectrum analyzer to identify sources of potential interference
5 years experience in wireless design and testing or in medical products testing.
3 Years experience in a lab setting and familiar with the operation of wireless and wired test equipment and networks in general (802.11, 802.15 and 802.3).
3 Years experience writing test protocols and/or executing test cases and writing test or bug reports.
Any industry standard certifications from CWNP, Cisco, Aruba, Microsoft, or CompTIA.
An Bachelors degree in the IT, Business, CIS, Electronics, or Computer Science field with 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Knowledge of design controls and good documentation practices, maintenance processes, installation, test, troubleshooting and upgrading of medical devices.
Demonstrated experience in process creation, service management, or test methodology.
