Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful project planning and execution of a projects, from initiation through closing. Specific responsibilities for this role are outlined below.

Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively applies project methodology as identified in PMO processes and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), reinforcing project standards and processes throughout the various phases of the project.
  • Collaborates with the appropriate product owners, development leads, stakeholders, and project team in developing project scope, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Maintains project schedules and timelines including milestones, deliverables, and task and resource dependencies, while maintaining consistent communication and approval processes with project team throughout the project.
  • Regularly documents and communicates project status, dependencies, issues, and risks to all appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects and scrum teams, including acting as scrum master by scheduling and running ceremonies for assigned product and development teams.
  • Facilitates communication and forward progress within the scrum team including decision making, removing blockers and maintaining focus
  • Monitors and reviews project status and deliverables to ensure the project will be delivered on time and within budget and to specification. Collaborates with team to create mitigation plans when projects are at risk
  • Ensures clear and consistent project documentation and communication across teams and departments, identifying owners and actionable items. Organizing and leading cross team meetings when appropriate.
  • Coordinates release process, documenting release notes and communicating to the necessary stakeholders
  • Responsible for conducting project post mortems when necessary.
