We are seeking tohire a historian of the twentieth century whose research considersFrance's connections with other parts of the world and ideallyexplores questions of gender and sexuality. Given theinterdisciplinary and bilingual nature of the Institute of FrenchStudies, the successful candidate should be able to mentor studentsand converse with scholarship in anthropology, sociology, orliterature; excellent oral command of French is expected inaddition to English. The successful candidate will also be expectedto contribute to the collective editorship of the IFS's bilingualjournal French Politics, Culture, and Society.
