As the US healthcare market continues evolve at a rapid pace, the needs and demands of our customers grow more complex. Meeting these evolving demands requires sophisticated approaches to engage our customers in meaningful ways that allow us to demonstrate the role Pfizer and its medicines can play in this evolving landscape. The Director of National Account Execution is a Customer Marketing colleague responsible for delivering customer value initiatives & solutions that result in a sustained competitive advantage with Pfizer's largest national payer accounts and custom client affiliates accounting for 300M lives and $16B in revenue. This colleague must be able to possess & apply a thorough understanding of our payer segments in order to align Pfizer & the payer customer's business priorities that can drive value. This role will develop customer engagement strategy beyond contract & clinical discussions in close coordination with the national account directors. This includes effective engagement strategies and tactics to develop and lead payer customer initiatives and supporting project management. As a part of the overall customer plan, this person will have direct customer interactions supporting areas of focus including adherence, quality, population health and total cost of care. As a matrix leader, this individual will align with account team stakeholders including Medical, National Account Directors, Brand Payer Marketers, Contracting, and Customer Analytics to build effective customer plans. As a subject matter expert in effective customer engagement, this colleague will also be called upon to train National and Regional Account Directors and Medical Outcomes Specialists on Customer Marketing resources and scale payer initiatives. Effectively executed, this role will improve Pfizer's ability to deliver profitable access, contract performance and enhance strategic relationships in Pfizer's most critical accounts.

  • Directly engage all assigned and prioritized national accounts and custom client customers to develop strategic relationships and mutually valued business engagements that deliver on 90M in revenue goals for the brands.
  • Accountable for expanding Pfizer's breadth and depth of influence within each assigned account in order to build strategic relationships and drive performance of contracted access
  • Ability to analyze customer data aligned to our portfolio to identify and prioritize payer initiatives that have mutual value
  • Responsible for critical decision making with each customer that will significantly impact Pfizer's relationship with each customer.
  • Responsible for understanding and leveraging the entire portfolio in customer initiatives that PCA has responsibility for.
  • Support for account plans, deep dives, and customer opportunity/risk identification
  • Stakeholder mapping and customer needs analysis, identifying contact gaps and unmet customer needs
  • Creation and RC approval of materials developed for customer review and/or use (not solution/tool development)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within PCA on effective customer engagement, CM resource application, and US payer trends
  • Provide critical customer insights that inform Brand planning and resource development.
  • Colleague will be accountable for capturing and communicating insights from each customer that will be relevant to Brand and cross functional HQ teams.
  • Lead payer customer initiatives and supporting project management
  • In-person customer interactions supporting SAOF and customer goals/objectives
  • Lead a cross functional team representing National Accounts, Contracting, Customer Analytics, Payer Analytics, Customer Marketing, Medical, Sales and Account Management and Trade in order to develop a strategic plan for each assigned national account.
  • Accountable for the execution of the strategic plan to support aligned brand and therapeutic goals for each assigned account.

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Pharmaceutical marketing and strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace are essential.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 12-15 years of account management experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of all payer channels in the U.S. healthcare system
  • Resource design capabilities and the ability to design scalable platforms for multiple customer types
  • Strong design, implementation and execution skills for resource development
  • Ability to generate deep, targeted customer insights and integrate into business decisions.
  • Ability to align customized solutions to brand priorities in order to ensure focus on strategic execution of the operating plan.
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong strategic and leadership skills.
  • Solid analytical and strategic thinking; ability to translate strategy and analysis to a tactical, executable level.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and distill critical customer driven insights to drive brand performance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a customer and brand team-based environment and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong project and process management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize/multi-task effectively.
  • Abide to all Pfizer compliance requirements
  • Strong design, implementation and execution skills for resource development
  • Strong coaching skills to provide guidance on best practices and relevant market strategies to account management
  • Ability to understand enterprise customer accounts and work across multiple customer segments and market issues

  • MBA/MPH and/or Payer account management experience preferred.
  • Contracting experience preferred
