The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible in developing all Ria’s services and products primarily focusing in the African market, towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with our company’s vision and values. The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Business Development Director and primarily be responsible for establishing plans, implementing strategies, supporting the sales teams in the field to contribute to the increase of sales and expand our agent network in Emerging Markets. The BDM will cover the states of PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA. Generate leads and recruit new agents every month in all Ria corridors primarily focusing on the African market. Actively and successfully manage the sign-up, set-up and training of an agent in our money remittance platform and compliance programs Develop existing agents to reach their highest potential promoting all Ria products and services Achieve and exceed the monthly transactions and new agent targets Work closely with potential and existing agent locations to acquire new transactions Maintain strong relationships and provide solutions to retain customers and increase transactions Analyze market intelligence to identify growth opportunities, Evaluate company reports to address, reinforce, or correct market and/or agency performance trends and capitalize on market opportunities Monitor daily exchange rates and volume growth on existing and assigned accounts Make fact-based recommendations on product pricing and commission Execute both self-conceived and assigned marketing plans to support transaction growth Work closely with agent locations to do grassroot activities to promote business Participate on community and industry events to promote Ria’s services and products Document daily activities such as sales calls, visits, future appointments, plans, and submit weekly report regarding expansion efforts, market intelligence collection and growth plans Other duties, projects or territories as assigned
Job Requirements Associates, bachelor’s degree or 2 or more years of successful outside sales experience, business development and account management Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French Must possess experience in cold calling, product demonstration and selling products or services Ability to travel within assigned territory daily, have a valid driver license, reliable automobile transportation, maintain an acceptable driving record and auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the company and state law Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization The key characteristics this individual must possess are strong interpersonal skills, works well under no supervision, self-motivated and has good time management Must possess basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Preference will be given to candidates with prior money transfer, money service business, top up or someone who has experience in selling products to business with a foreign customer base Ability to work from home and travel to assigned territory daily Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time as a driver in an automobile Ability to visit businesses and work in tight places to install equipment Ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds Base salary plus a variable commission plan We provide a car allowance (or company car), cell phone and tablet to assist with the requirements of the position Employee benefits package including 401(k) with employer match and an employee stock purchase plan Benefits for employees including medical, dental, vision and life insurance Paid vacation, sick leave and holidays Growth opportunities within the company
