The Senior Project manager is accountable for driving the success of multiple high-profile, high-priority strategic projects under their supervision. Responsible for driving \"end to end\" Project Management, from the annual planning process and business case preparation, through initiation, planning and delivering all aspects of a successful project. Serve as liaison between business sponsor, administrative leaders, University leaders and technical staff. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. The Project Manager will also work closely with the technical managers in different functional areas to document, communicate and manage the resolution of project related technical issues. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Experience using metrics to manage/drive project success. Full understanding of how to engage/leverage Business Change Management to ensure projects are successful.
The candidate must have extensive experience implementing enterprise wide strategic projects that are sponsored by Information Technology and who can clearly articulate what it takes to be successful with such projects. The candidate's project experience can come from Application Development, Enterprise Data Management, Service Management, Business Transformation.
Development / Computing Environment:
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative)
Proficient with the Project and Portfolio Management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Tempus, Workfront, etc.)
In depth understanding of project management concepts.
Experience implementing vendor solutions for large-scale, enterprise systems.
Training in, and a demonstrated understanding of the project domain (Infrastructure/Application Development, etc.) sufficient to review activities and tasks with domain experts and verify estimated levels of effort Number of Years Experience 5-12 Years.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Ability to work with Senior Management is required as well as the ability to communicate clearly and frequently to both technical staff and non-technical business leaders.
Excellent project management and organization skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Extremely strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

Strong knowledge of business objectives.
Project experience (at least 10 years) in a complex environment.
Manage all aspects of technology project management and project lifecycles by effectively initiating, planning, executing and controlling multiple high profile, high priority projects at the same time.
Create and maintain project schedules. Identify and monitor overall project timeline, project milestones, tasks, resources, task dependencies, and critical paths. Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.
Collaborate with different IT departments to ensure proper resource alignment and successful project delivery.
Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Manage issues and risk prevention/mitigation by anticipating and identifying risks and issues that may impact timeline, deliverables and service quality. Develop, communicate and implement mitigation plan and corrective action(s). Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered.
Conduct regular team status meetings and stakeholders meetings. Communicate with different levels of IT staff and leadership teams by providing program/project status and executive reports. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.
Identifying business requirements and preparation/coordination of business cases to support our clients requests for funding as well as other project documentation.
Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case.
Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria, as well as to capture baselines to measure against for continuous improvement.
Manage data gathering and analytics tasks.
Bachelor's degree required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent is required.
Graduate course work in related technical, Project Management or technical domain; a master's degree is preferred.
Training in, and demonstrated understanding of, an organization's budgeting and portfolio prioritization process..
