Sheltering Arms is seeking a Social Worker to provide a safe, secure, non-judgmental, respectful and supportive living environment for all residents. The Social Worker provides ongoing support and encouragement to all residents while enforcing a structured environment. SW provides mental health, substance abuse, trauma influenced counseling and counseling in all needed areas. SW provides referrals, guidance and ensures adherence to all program requirements. SW remains in constant contact with all medical/mental health providers to coordinate care, and makes referrals to health care providers when needed.
* Facilitates, develops and participates in skill building groups and provides as a role model. * Organize and run the weekly support group. * Provide non-judgmental listening and encouragement to all youth. * Maintain professional boundaries with all youth. * Monitor residents and assess mental state on an ongoing basis. * Provide weekly individual session to each resident. * Assist with provide medical referrals as needed. Assist coordinate all medical care. * Provide mental health, substance abuse, trauma sensitive and all other counseling as needed. * Make referrals for outside services when needed such as substance abuse, mental health counseling, etc. * Attend and take part of all intakes, treatment team meetings and discharge planning meetings. * Assist in monitors and records all toxicology reports by having meetings about results. * Preforms outreach for new residents on an ongoing basis. * Log all referrals and intakes when full time staff is unavailable. * Ensure the residents are complying with morning routines such as dressed and ready when full time staff is not available. * Inform Supervisor of all concerns in a timely fashion. * Address any concerns with residents in a respectful manner as they arise. * Attend regular staff meetings and trainings. * Maintain regular attendance and be on time for the start of the shift. * Read staff communications at the beginning of every shift when update is not available from full time staff. * Assist in crisis intervention such as calling police, ambulance, or other emergency services. If emergency services are called inform your supervisor and the Director within an hour of the incident. * Write incident reports for all situations you are involved with in the home. * Keep up to date chart records of all residents current and past.
* Master's Degree in Social Work or related degree * Between 1-2 years of related experience working adolescents, trauma experience desired. * Experience conducting groups and developing appropriate and relevant youth programming * Ability to handle crisis situations with minimum supervision
