Stantec is seeking a Small Business Program Manager (SBPM). This role reports to the Senior Vice President and the US Federal Program Lead, who is a member of the US Senior leadership team. The SBPM is part of the US Federal leadership team and is responsible for developing and implementing an overall small business program. This includes meeting compliance with applicable rules and regulations, representing Stantec to the small business community, partnering with our clients’ small business liaison officers and programs, and expanding Stantec’s small business relationship across all business lines.
The US SBPM assists in implementing Stantec’s US Federal business strategies and objectives, specific to the small business community. As an active partner in Stantec’s collaborative model, the SBPM is an outstanding communicator, business developer and works in cooperation with US Federal Account Managers, Business Line Liaisons and other local, regional and business line leadership to identify small business opportunities, develop small business partnerships, including Mentor-Protégé relationships, and participate in relevant US Federal program initiatives.
Your Key Responsibilities
Accountable for net revenue growth by developing collaborative partnerships with small businesses to achieve a reasonable return on investment.
Provide guidance and support to Account Managers and Business Lines in identification and pursuit of small business opportunities including providing critical input into teaming, proposals and contracts.
Support US Federal Regulatory Compliance by working with the Federal Contracts Team (FCT) to maintain ongoing compliance with applicable FAR and SBA standards. Supports SBA audits and reporting with the FCT.
Maintain and evolve small business program to achieve industry-recognized excellence. Support our ongoing Mentor-Protégé relationship, and work with the US Federal Program Lead to consider expansion of our Mentor-Protégé program.
Develops high performing networks of internal and external relationships to expand Small business relationships that increase net revenue and demonstrate commitment to the small business community.
Participates in US Federal Strategic Planning representing the interests of the small business program to the US Federal Team and implements resulting related strategic initiatives.
Facilitates problem solving between small business partners and account or project teams.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Deep understanding of the US federal marketplace and service offerings in the A/E industry in relation to Small and Minority-owned businesses
Excellent relationships and/or understanding of the Small Business Administration and on-going changes in rules & regulations, compliance requirements and legislation
Proven and demonstratable skills in relationships building, management, influencing change, negotiation and business development
Ability to translate visionary guidance into strategic planning and tactical execution
Proven experience with change management and organizational culture change
Strong financial management, people management and team building skills
Results-oriented individual who excels in a multi-disciplinary environment
Advanced communication skills including interpersonal, writing and presentation abilities
Registration or certification in applicable professional disciplines is desired
Strong desire to succeed, enthusiastic, and possess the highest degree of integrity
Ability to travel across the US as needed up to and occasionally above 50%
Extensive leadership experience with a large volume organization
Education and Experience
Minimum 12 years of experience in the US Federal market with multiple Federal agencies, and existing client relationships within those agencies
Professional degree required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job
